Charles Horatio McMorris was born August 31, 1890, in Wetumpka, Alabama. He graduated from the U. S. Naval Academy in Annapolis in 1912 and received his commission in 1914. William Frederick Halsey Jr. (October 30, 1882 – August 16, 1959) was a fleet admiral in the United States Navy during World War II.
